Syracuse’s beaches are the best place to relax, sunbathe and swim in crystal clear, pristine waters. Surrounded by Mediterranean maquis, they alternate very fine sand with limestone rocks and during the summer period they are the favorite destination of tourists from all over the world. In this very short post I want to list what, in my humble opinion, are the most beautiful beaches in Syracuse. Here is where I recommend you go swimming if you are in these parts.
Plemmirio Beach
The Plemmirio nature reserve is a marine protected area that encloses beaches, natural coves and shores of rare beauty that can be reached on foot or byboat with thePlemmirio boat excursion. Cala Rossa Beach
The island of Ortigia represents the historic center and beating heart of Syracuse, a real gem that you absolutely must visit! There are not so many beaches in Ortigia. The most beautiful beach is Cala Rossa, which is convenient to reach for those staying on the island. In the small beach there are also showers with fresh water and in the afternoon it is shaded. If you are in Ortigia I recommend that you do not miss the boat tour of Ortigia.
Minaret Beaches
Minaret beach can be reached on foot by first walking down a small path and then a flight of steps or by boat or renting a bicycle in Syracuse. Next to the free beach there is also a lido with all services. Described by many as a true paradise on earth, it is located within an incredibly impressive natural golf course.
Fontane Bianche Beach
The beach at Fontane Bianche is distinguished by its white sand and numerous freshwater springs bubbling up from the seabed.
The beach is 10 kilometers from Syracuse and can be easily reached by bicycle or with one of our rental scooters (low prices and discounted rates for long rent).
The gently sloping transparent sea and the warm temperature of its waters make it one of the most beautiful beach resorts in Syracuse.
Vendicari Beach
The beach of the Vendicari nature reserve is thin and very clear. Crystal clear water and the remains of an old tuna fishery are enclosed within unspoiled nature. A true paradise oasis that attracts tourists from all over the world.
Marzamemi Beach
The “Spinazza” is the beach located a stone’s throw from the Marzamemi tuna fishery. Here the fine sandy beach slopes gently into a sandy seabed rich in fish.
